Dog Food

A. Litman –MA: “Less than a year ago my husband and I adopted a little overweight 7 year old Chihuahua mix, Peanut. For an overweight dog, he has been an extremely finicky. When we first got him he refused to eat dry dog food. So I bought wet food. At first I tried the ones for overweight dog.  Nope! Peanut wouldn’t eat it. I mean he would go days without eating, just living off a few doggie treats (for doing his business outside etc.). I was extremely worried. Our vet said to hold strong, dogs will not starve themselves, and he will eat. I tried regular canned dog, he either snubbed the food or would eat when he knew there were no more treats coming his way and he was very hungry from not eating for a few days. I tried everything the big name brands, and other al l natural, organic brands. I found I had the best luck with lamb or beef favors but, Peanut would not eat a particular brand for more than 5 days straight then refused to eat it completely. Then it was back to square one. UNTIL HALO! Thank you! I was at a pet supply store always on a look out for food that might entice him. I saw Halo and your ingredients sounded promising. Peanut has been eating the lamb stew for two and half weeks now without coaxing. I can’t believe it. He loves it! A. McEnery – NC: "Lola" is a 7-year-old female Boston terrier we recently adopted to join Stanley, our 9-year-old male Boston. When I brought Lola to the vet, she said, "I hope you know what you're getting into with this girl." Among other problems, Lola has "megaesophagus," which causes her to choke and sometimes cough up her food. A feral kitten was recently delivered to me by a friend who saw him sitting in a median strip on a busy Miami street. He had such a severe case of scabies that his eyes had been crusted shut from the infection. He would have gone blind eventually, but dehydrated and perished from lack of food source first. He’s gotten medical care in the form of Lyme dips and lvometrix shots. The best remedy came from Halo, Purely For Pets. My pet sitter gave me a container of Derma Dream and told me to try it on his face to sooth his itching. He would get panic attacks and scratch himself viciously until he drew blood. It was quite heartbreaking to watch. I would lie down with the kitten on my tummy. While petting him I would apply Derma Dream liberally with my finger. I would also smear it on the inside of his legs and paws. This would allow him to apply it to himself when washing! The next morning I would scratch his head and ears and the dried scabies would flake off. A reapplication of Derma Dream would assist in refreshing the new skin underneath. It’s a wonderful product!”
