Dry Dog Food
Halo’s diets, except our Garden of Vegan® dog recipes, use real WHOLE meat, poultry, or fish protein and say NO to “meat meal” of ANY kind because real WHOLE protein is more digestible, so dogs retain and use more of its nutrients. We never use rendered, powdered “meat meal,” like “chicken meal” or “fish meal,” which may decrease digestibility and contain parts of animals you wouldn’t consider to be meat.
The Proof is in the Poop
When you insist on real WHOLE meat, poultry, or fish, you get a more digestible pet food. Compared to best-selling premium pet foods (including “natural” brands), Halo comes out on top in terms of digestibility. When you feed your dog an easier-to-digest food, your dog utilizes more of it. And the more your dog benefits from, the less you are likely to pick up as waste.
Now with DreamCoat®
Halo meat, poultry, and fish dry dog food recipes are now made with DreamCoat® for smooth skin and shiny coat. With our commitment to choosing holistic ingredients that help make your dog look and feel healthy from the inside out, we have added DreamCoat® to our dry kibble recipes.
Adding Halo Wet Food to Our Kibble
Just like us, dogs need a lot of water to stay healthy. Their bodies are made of 75% water, yet they rarely drink enough of it to support excellent hydration and organ function. That’s why we recommend that at least 25-50% of their daily calories come from wet food.*
If you normally feed your dog dry kibble, you can add canned food to one or both meals each day. For balanced proportions that give your dog extra hydration and variety without over feeding, you can substitute about 4 oz. of wet food for each ¼ cup of dry kibble that you feed your pet.
*Halo wet food and Halo dry food each deliver—on their own—all of your dog’s nutritional needs. This recommendation to include some wet food each day for hydration is our preference for optimal pet health.
