A Mission Rooted in Community
Founded in 2017, Community Pet Project has supported thousands of animals through pet food, supplies, and veterinary assistance. With an entirely volunteer-run team and no government funding, the organization relies on community generosity to continue its mission.
Support When It’s Needed Most
Community Pet Project's work goes far beyond everyday pet essentials. When hurricanes and natural disasters impact the Tampa Bay area, the organization helps families access much-needed pet food. Its Save the Paw Paws program provides protective booties to shield dogs' paws from Florida's hot pavement, while its Dog House Program helps provide safe shelter for dogs in need.
The organization also assists with veterinary expenses, spay and neuter services, and temporary foster care for cats belonging to veterans and active-duty military members facing hardship. Each program addresses a different need, but they all share the same goal: helping families overcome challenges without having to give up the pets they love.
How You Can Help
Behind Community Pet Project's work is a dedicated group of volunteers and supporters who believe every pet deserves to be cared for. From donating essential supplies to volunteering or making a financial contribution, there are many ways to help families and their pets through difficult times.
Whether you're local to Tampa Bay or miles away, supporting organizations like Community Pet Project can make a meaningful difference for the pets and people who depend on them.
